A good day at work!

September 6, 2007

Today was a good day at work. I know I have whinged a fair bit recently on this blog about work, but today was a good day – nice to be able to say that! The mid year operational review meeting went well, no difficult questions and our team all presented well. Lots of statements made about how the Australian team continues to show regional technical and process leadership. Also had another final gate review meeting for a project I’ve been running today and the bosses boss was quite effusive about what a great job the project team had done, and called it “transformational”.

I also had a great run tonight – another beautiful evening for a run, and felt pretty good – it was just under 11km at 5:10 min/km pace, and it was a negative split run too with the second 5km being about a minute faster than the first 5km.

A change of music contributed to a good run too as I loaded up the iPod with some Pink Floyd (it was Roger Waters birthday today by the way – happy birthday Roger). On my last run on Tuesday I was skipping through the songs a fair bit, realising I was a bit sick of what was on there.

Congratulations to Kerryn McCann and her family on the birth of her baby today and all the best as this very inspiring lady begins her battle against breast cancer.
