A windy ride

10633Here’s a photo of me from Sunday. I look a bit of a dork in my Skins, knee brace and gloves, don’t I!

On the way home from work tonight I bought my copy of the official Tour de France guide magazine, so that inspired me to get out for a ride on the bike. Anyway, I thought this was wise to give the knee a bit of a rest from the impact of running. It was quite windy out there, the up-hills vs the wind were quite tough, and there were a few occasions where the gusty wind blew the old carbon fibre bike around a bit! Anyway, it was still an enjoyable ride, but again, as for the last few rides, I only managed about 20.5km before it got too dark for me to consider it safe.

After the ride I completed Day 2, Week 2 of the of the One Hundred Push-Ups challenge. It called for 16/13/11/11/max(at least 15) with 90 seconds rest between sets. The worst part for me is the rests at the moment, usually when I do my circuits at home, I don’t rest between exercises, rather organising consecutive exercises to be for different muscle groups, so sitting around for 60, 90 or 120 seconds feels weird. Time goes so slowly when you are doing nothing, waiting for it to elapse. Managed the sets okay, getting 17 for the last “max” set.

I have a late meeting tonight, not too bad – starts at 9:30pm, and the first one I’ve had for a while.

Wow, good job on the push ups and the cross training! I am so with you on the rests inbetween. But, my body needs them though, so I won’t complain!

    Keep up the good work!

That’s cool! I got a photo from supersportsimages- is that were you got yours? I ordered an image download but it doesn’t seem to let me download yet :S I hope I didn’t pay money for a broken service. But you look great!

While you’re waiting, in between your sets, why don’t you flip over and do some crunches or planks?

That’ll make the time pass more quickly :D

You look fine!! I find wind tough to run in, never mind ride through.
