Lunch in Geelong …

By ajh

A sleep-in this morning, then Adrienne and I headed down to Geelong and took my parents and Adrienne’s mum out to lunch. I was good and chose a nice healthy choice, baked swordfish and salad, but when it came out, it was two of the biggest swordfish fillets I’ve ever seen. One of them would have been plenty, but I ate them both – they were delicious. Double the omega-3s I guess. A nice glass of red to wash it down. After a quick visit to a nursery we went back to mum and dads for a cup of coffee and cake (mum’s ginger cake has always been one of my favourites).

It was starting to get dark by the time we got home, but I rang Alyssa and asked if she wanted to go for a run, and we just did a 6km loop, at 5:28 min/km. Alyssa was pretty happy, she’d had her schools athletic carnival on Thursday and she won the 400m and 800m. My knee hasn’t been too bad recently, still a little sore, but my shin soreness in my right shin is getting a bit worse. After the run a short workout, 3 sets of 20 push-ups, 20 squats, 20 sit-ups & 20 lunges.

Hey Andrew I am doing 210km ATBIAD – Melbourne to Queenscliff. Will I see you on the road? Hope the shins get better- loads of icing (not the good sort of icing that usually hides cake, but the other icing that involves being cold).

I thought there were some strange place names where I am moving to — Clock House and Elmers End being two of them …. but they are nothing compared to some of the strange Australian place names!
