Yesterday was a very long day, up at 5am to get to the airport, then flying down to Burnie, a full day of meetings, then flying back and not getting home until about 8pm. Consequently no exercise for the day. As I’ve probably mentioned before, I am not the most confident flyer, and the landing in Burnie in the little twin prop plane was a bit scary. It was quite windy on the ground and on the approach the plane was tilting back and forth quite a bit – I was thinking “I hope the wing tips don’t touch the ground before the wheels!”. Anyway, probably all in my mind, but I was glad when we were safely landed. A bit of turbulence on the way back, but again beautiful views of Melbourne and suburbs at night as we flew back in.
Today was another day of meetings again – more of the same tomorrow. One of them tomorrow I have to give a presentation that has been pre-prepared and I haven’t even read it yet!
I was going to run tonight, but it was sprinkling with rain when I got home, so I wimped it and opted for a home workout instead. It was a good one though, just under an hour, twice as long as normal. I pushed it a bit harder than normal on my exercise bike sets, but not really hard – I struggle to get too enthused about the exercise bike!
Thanks for your little messages of encouragement to the abs on the last post – I think they might need a few more before they come out of hiding!
I am going to try Alyssa on Jelly Beans next run, they are what I used during the marathon last year!

Yay on the jellybeans – hope they work for her. Hope you’re getting in lots of shut-eye and that your home workout acted as a good stress reliever after the hectic day. I’m not even slightly scared of flying in a jet, but you wouldn’t get me in one of those little things for love nor money – well done for keeping your cool!

Funny how different runners need different things. Alyssa has issues with food and a stitch; I find that if I don’t eat before a run, I’m just too weary. I’ve never really been troubled by stitches.
Know what you mean about those little propeller planes, I’ll never forget flying into Rockhampton in one, during a thunderstorm. White knuckle material for sure!

Those little planes are not much fun when conditions are bad.
I hope the jelly beans work out.

MBM (meetings bloody meetings) I feel for you. And I feel for you having to present something you haven’t seen. That is a tough gig. I have done a lot of presentations but I don’t think I’ve had to do that. Let us know how you go.
Must try the jelly beans in my next race. Good idea!

(Ive never seen the MBM acronym. I think I like it
)
and kudos on motivating to do the home workout.
it’s exhausting to be on the gogogogo and, as I know through my husband, EXTRA TIRING when youre a reluctant flier.

I love the term “Death By Meeting” or “Death By Powerpoint” too!
