No, I’m not talking about my chances of getting up and exercising tomorrow morning, I’m talking about my Amazon package that arrived today. I love receiving Amazon packages! It was Dean Karnazes’ new book 50/50. For any of you who don’t know (where have you been if you don’t) – he ran 50 marathons, on 50 consecutive days in 50 different US states in late 2006. This new book is about that super-human effort and is subtitled “Secrets I Learned Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days – and How You Too Can Achieve Super Endurance!”. So, I am hoping reading it will inspire me to add my second marathon to my goals for next year!
I loved his first book “Ultramarathon Man” and Dean “The Machine”, may be my second most inspirational living sportsman (behind Lance of course). I can’t wait to start reading this!
Up early this morning again for a swim, doing the usual 80 laps (2km) in just under 50 minutes, just like yesterday. No time for anything else tonight unfortunately, which is a shame because it was such a beautiful evening!

I always wonder endurance athletes like that keep on training without picking up a serious injury? I could do with some pointers there… let me know if he reveals anything useful!!

I’m with TA…how do they do it??
Or is he—like a guy I know in real life—-simply a geneticwonder?
Is the book a compelling read for us NOT hardcore runnersL

Wow 80 laps, Never done that before. That would kill me, but I’d like to try and do it some time. I need to invest in some new togs, I think. And yeah I heard about that guy who did 50 in 50- and by the 50th he found himself surprisingly not as tired as he thought he might be, yeah? Am I thinking about the right guy? I might have to pick this book up.
