Packages from Amazon that is! It is good of them to split your order to get it to you more quickly, but there seems little points when the two packages arrive on consecutive days.
The only running related book was “What I Talk About When I Talk About Running” by Haruki Murakami. The famous Japanese author is a runner, and this is a memoir of his running life. Something a bit different for me.
Today was a bit different too. I had the day off work as we had some family matters to deal with. I also found time to take my bike in to have the broken spoke fixed, hoping I can pick it up tomorrow – I’ve missed my bike rides this week!
A decent home workout tonight, with a lot of push-ups and core work – the abs were feeling it afterwards so it must have been a good workout.
Just updated the training journal and happy to report that I have remained “above the line” in my 6 hours / 3600 calories goal for the fifth week in a row. Although the slack period for most of the year has me currently averaging 5.1 hours / 3221 calories, I just did some projections and have worked out that if I can keep up the last five weeks effort for the remainder of the year I can achieve my goal. I tell you, leave a computer geek with a spreadsheet training journal and hours can be wasted !

Will be interested to see how you get on with the Haruki Murakami – I used to be a fan but started to find his books a bit samey. Was very intrigued when I saw he’d written a running memoir!

I think you’ll enjoy the book – well I did. It was a bit different to what I was expecting but I’ll be interested to hear your opinion when you finish it.
Ha with the spreadsheets. Sometimes I look at my running log and think I should do blah, blah, blah and it’d be like the most whizz bang Excel running log ever — then I stop myself cos seriously it would never end!

Sounds like an interesting book.
I thought about using a spreadsheet – but find the logging functions on http://www.mapmyrun.com pretty good when used with the map routes. Mind you I use a spreadsheet for other stuff like weights.
