A fortunate puncture

By ajh

How can there be such a thing? Well, the fortunate thing was that it happened only about 100 yards from the end of the ride. I went for a ride after work with Voj, we decided to do some laps of our 8.5km running loop we sometimes do. Voj had an appointment he had to get to and pulled out after two laps, I carried on to do a third, for just over 25km. About 100 yards from work on the last lap I got another puncture, maybe it is time for some new tires, they are just over a year old and have just under 4000km on them. Maybe they can be my Christmas present?

Word of the Day

Pandiculation (n.) – The act of stretching and extending the limbs, in tiredness or waking.

This is one of my favourite things – and now I know what to call it!

Just pandiculated not too long ago!

Get some of those gatorskins. A bit more expensive but very rare to get a puncture.

The word even sounds enjoyable, rolls off the tongue very nicely.

I like the idea that there’s a name for the whole stretching thing when you’re waking up.

Are the tyres still under warranty? (TIC – tongue in cheek)

I paid more for my bike tyres than the tyres on my car- the bike shop dude told me they were bullet proof and for $80 each they had better be!
