Nearly a full moon tonight, in fact the full moon is expected early Saturday morning. I decided to take a shot tonight though because there is cloud forecast the next day or so, and you just know that Murphy’s Law will kick in and the cloud and full moon will coincide perfectly.
Tonight’s moon is a waxing gibbous moon. “Waxing” means “getting larger” and “gibbous” means “more than half, but less than fully illuminated” – tonight it is about 95% illuminated.
My favourite shot today was of the dam in Woodlands Historic Park (near the Providence Road entrance), including an old, derelict wooden structure, with the setting sun creating some beautiful colours in the trees and some nice reflections on the water.
