These birds are such cool customers. They are also wonderful contrasts against the sky. Those deep red eyes seem to bore right though you.

Andrew,
I have not visited your blog for a long time, but have occasionally have wondered in a casual way what you might be up to. Today I decided to log on to see. I was delighted by your photos. Almost all score very high on the ‘interestingness’ scale. I looked back to see what happened to your running and cycling, and read the entry on the closing of your training journal with mixed feelings. On the one hand, your account of those running and cycling activities over the preceding six years had been inspiring, but perhaps more importantly , was it was the account of an interesting journey by an interesting person.
One of your quotations was from Einstein was: “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving”, and you have followed that principle well But as one continues to move forward it is good to make space to bring a few good things from the past along for the ride. Exercise stats are only the external trappings and can easily be left in store; maybe to be taken out occasionally and reminisced over, like old photos. However, enjoyment of physical activities in the outdoors is something that is worth bringing along with you wherever the new ride takes you. I will continue to enjoy your photos. I hope you continue to take delight in physical activity along with your delight in photography.
