How rude !!!

Official Run For The Kids results are in the papers and on the web today. My official time was one second less than I recorded on my watch, at 1:14:19. This puts me (almost) in the top 25% of the 19,000 starters, so not too bad. However I do have one rather serious complaint about the R4TK official results – they have me in the 50-54 age group, and I’m not 50 for at least another 73 days (not that I’m counting or anything) – how rude!

Updating my “My Races” page with the official time did make me realise that my “dance card” is now empty – that isย I have no runs or bike rides on the calendar. I’m considering doing something at the Williamstown Sri Chinmoy at the end of May, and also something at Run Melbourne in June – maybe a half marathon if the doc thinks I’m up to it.

An intentionally slower 8.25km run tonight, average pace 5:59 min/km. That’s three run days in a row – giving the knee a test – I see Dr K. tomorrow, hoping for a reasonable report.

yeah, happened to me last year, I was slotted into the 35-39 age group even though I was still 34, something to do with them using the age you will be on 31/12 (and with a birthday on 28/12 I snuck in), still, it gave me a 2nd place and a 1st place for my “age” so I didn’t worry too much ๐Ÿ™‚

I was wondering what you meant by your dance card being empty. I’m sure it won’t take you long to fill it up.

That is very rude of them to put you up an age group. ๐Ÿ˜€
