Hot 100 – Weekly update 3

Here is my week 3 update for the Hot 100 challenge.

  1. 2010 exercise goal.
    To continue to exercise regularly;
    – exercise on average at least 6 hours per week
    – maintain the intensity of exercise and burn an average of > 4,000 calories per week
    For the Hot 100 I’m going to stretch the goals a bit;
    – stay 10% ahead of both measurements by the end of 2010
    – succeed in both measurements in 12 out of the 15 weeks between now and the end of 2010
    This week 6.09 hours of exercise, for 5,115 calories. Averages year to date are 6.61 hours (10.1% ahead) and 4,470 calories (11.7% ahead).

  2. 2010 weight and body fat goal
    To continue to eat a sensible and balanced diet, and;
    – maintain my weight within the 70-75kg range
    – maintain my body-fat percentage within the 15-20% range.
    This weeks result is 71.3 kg (up 100g from last week) and 17.0% body fat. Year to date results; average 72.6 kg, minimum 70.9 kg, maximum 74.4 kg.
  3. 2010 bicycle distance goal
    To ride 5,000km in 2010
    This week 127 km, year to date 4,065 km, which is 216.1 km (or 15.8 days) ahead of schedule. 935 km left to reach 5,000 km.

So, successful on all goals every week so far, but only squeeked in by 5 minutes in the 6 hour exercise goal this week.

Today was a pretty usual Saturday for me, Victoria Market for fruit and veggies, then the local shopping centre. I also did a clean and lube of my bike, including a proper clean of the chain, rear cassette and derailleur. Going to make today another “exercise free day” and save all my energy for the race tomorrow. I’ve just got out all my clothes, pinned on my race number etc. for the morning. I always “um and ah” about whether I’ll wear my Skins (long bottoms and long sleeved top) for a race, but nearly always do. The race tomorrow starts at 7:30am, so I don’t think getting too hot will be a problem, and I feel more comfortable with the Skins on. They support my muscles a bit and stop any chafing too. So, anyone who is looking for me tomorrow, I’ll have my black long Skins tights and top, dark blue shorts and a light blue shirt. I’m looking forward to the run and also to seeing some of you afterwards. I won’t be able to stay long though as we are heading out to lunch at my brothers, so I will need to be heading home.

    Great job on your second week! I really admire your comittment. I have a ways to go before I will really feel “fit”, but I crave it, sometimes dream about it.. I guess my muscles remember.
    And I add my “good luck” for your race.
