Back to work …

Back to work today, but it was pretty quiet, not many people working. I took the opportunity to have a bit of a clean up, set up all my monthly meetings in my calendar for 2011, blocked out all the public holidays that sort of stuff.

Headed out late tonight for a ride, and rode until dark, just over 31 km at an average speed of just under 28 km/hr.

I think tomorrow night is going to be our usual, quiet NYE at home. We usually stay at home because Jackie gets pretty frantic at all the fireworks that are usually going off around our suburb.

We don’t have the excuse of a fire-works shy family member, but we always end up at home anyway. We like it better that way.
We’re supposed to get some temps in the mid 50s in the next few days and are planning a New Year’s bike ride on one of the protected paths (protected so as not to run into, or be run into by, NYE celebrants who have had a few too many.

    Happy New Year.

I used to enjoy a workday during the holiday week–a great opportunity to plan and organize. And surf, uninterrupted. πŸ™‚

Happy New Year, Andrew! And thank you so much for you kind words today. I’m thrilled to have found your blog as well and look forward to following your achievements in 2011 (and beyond!)

Have a great NYE – pity the new year will have a sad start to it when the Hammers get hammered by the mighty Wolves. I think one of us will survive πŸ˜‰

Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve – I am going to be home since I am a bit sick and I’m tired of all the parties by now anyway! I just want to cozy up in front of a fire and watch a movie with the boys!!!

    Happy New Year, Andrew!

We will also celebrate at home today: watermelon, swim and barbecue … and keeping an eye out for fireworks (we have a little bit of thatched roof my dad stresses about) and being here for our poor cat who understandably doesn’t share the neighbours’ enthusiasm for loud bangs. (Fireworks are illegal here, but that never stops all of them.)

May your 2011 be a GOOD one! And thanks for contributing to my 2010, really appreciate your visits and encouragement.
