Numb …

After a late meeting last night, I slept in this morning, not just long enough to make exercise impossible, but long enough that I was late to work. I was also late leaving work, and feeling tired, so today is going to be a complete day of rest, exercise-wise.

My knee has not been feeling too bad, but I have had a weird, numb feeling down the front edge of my left thigh, sort of in between the ITB and the quad. It is very strange and oddly worrying. Another good reason to rest.

Just to fill up this post, in a day where there is not much else to report, here are three photos that raised my spirits a bit this week.

Jessie, the four-year old Jack Russell Terrier who was rescued after spending a week trapped under 45 tonnes of rock. She became wedged between two large boulders after she chased a feral cat. Her owner spent thousands of dollars and 100 hours digging to rescue her.

How wonderful to see Jim Stynes singing with Olivia Newton-John at the Melbourne game last weekend. For overseas readers, Jim Stynes is an ex star footballer here who has been bravely fighting cancer for a long time. Olivia Newton-John (who I have to own up to having a huge crush on as a young boy) is raising money here for her Cancer and Wellness Centre.

Great to see plenty of love and respect for Gary Ablett Jnr (who left Geelong to play with a new club last year) from the Geelong players after their game last week.

Good to see Jim Stynes there – hadn’t heard of his cancer and wish him all the best. He’s a legend!
