Spiny Orbweaver

Tonight’s photograph is of a slightly smaller, but just as pretty, inhabitant of Woodlands Historic Park. This Spiny Orbweaver spider was on the fence next to the gate to the nature reserve area near Providence Road entrance. This is a collage of two images, one from the front and one from the back.

They are gorgeous! I grew up in WA and we call them “Christmas Spiders there” and there were a lot of them too.
