Thorny perch …

A short walk around Woodlands this morning in-between rain showers looked like it was going to be a bit of a wash-out photographically, then this little Superb Fairy-wren decided to pose for me atop a thorny little bush. Isn’t he gorgeous?

Gorgeous indeed … especially with the DOF. Great capture, Andrew!

Not a band-aid in sight. Yes, great selective focus & composition.

It must be nice to be back home and back to walking and photographing birds. Would love to be there!

I love the spotlight on the background effect. In a studio we’d pay big bucks for that! When you ponder how thin those spiky bits are, and how the bird hasn’t bent them at all, it dawns on you how really light, and nothing they are!
