My goals for 2010 are listed below.

General Health and Fitness Goals

To continue to exercise regularly;
– exercise on average at least 6 hours per week
– maintain the intensity of exercise and burn an average of > 4,000 calories per week
Successful on this goal, meeting both goals 32 out of 52 weeks, with the average exercise time for the year at 6.26 hours and the calorie burn at 4,347.

To continue to eat a sensible and balanced diet, and;
– maintain my weight within the 70-75kg range
– maintain my body-fat percentage within the 15-20% range.
Successful here too, keeping both weight and body fat measurements within range the whole year.

To improve my hydration levels by drinking more water, more regularly.
– base goal is to improve average water level to 58% (1.4% improvement over 2009), bold goal is 60%.
Have managed a slight improvement with the 2010 average just over 57%, and after embarking upon the Primal Blueprint have decided that drinking when I’m thirsty is probably a better approach than forcing myself to drink a certain amount of water daily.

To maintain a regular strength training routine;
– to perform a routine of upper body, lower body and core strength exercises, on average at least three half-hour sessions per week.
Successful on this goal, although I did slow down a little in the second half of the year being careful with a slightly sore back.

To listen to my body, be sensible, and stay injury free.
A pretty good year, just a few little niggles.

To re-attempt the 100 Pushups program.
– base goal is to improve previous effort of 37, bold goal is to get to 50, extreme bold goal is to “do the hundred”.
I managed to get to 50 consecutive push-ups so achieved the bold goal. As a side benefit, I have successfully completed the 200 Squats and 200 Situps programs.

Visible abdominals.
– is this even possible at age 50?
Hmmm … not sure … a few signs, but I’ve got to be in the right light.

Running Goals

To get back into some longer runs,
– complete Run For The Kids in March
– complete a Half Marathon
Having downgraded my Melbourne Marathon Half-Marathon (10th Oct) entry to the 10k, this looks like it may have to wait until 2011.

To improve my 5km race PB.
– base goal is under 23 minutes, bold goal is under 22:30.

Cycling Goals

To participate in three organised, group bike events.
Amy’s Ride, MS Summer Cycle, Great Ocean Otway Classic and Degani Kinglake Ride done.

To ride 5,000km in 2010.
Completed the 5,000km on December 19th, finished the year with 5,242km.
